Due to the current COVID crisis, while social distancing measures are in place, we are growing in our faith primarily at home. We are inviting families to engage with our Family Worship, a weekly collection of songs, videos, and more to help our children grow in godliness.
Regular Sunday School class occurs from September through May and takes place from 9:45-10:45. We have two classes for our children:
PreK 4s through 1st grade: Meets in Arnold C101 (purple room)
2nd through 5th grade: Meets in Arnold C104 (yellow room)
In Colossians 1:9, Paul the apostle tells the Christians he has come to love, “I have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” I love this prayer. I think Paul’s love for the Colossians is evident – and his mission for them is clear: He knows that their love for God cannot grow unless their knowledge of Him grows, too. “It is a simple, yet profound reality: The more we know Him (not just know about Him), the more we will love Him.” Pastor and author Bill Hybels said that.
This is true for our kids, too. We want them to love God with their whole hearts. But we must also nurture them to grow in their understanding and knowledge of who God is and why He matters to them. As parents, we foster this spiritual growth at home, and supplement it with the opportunities for Christian education provided by our church. Every week at San Pedro, our children have this opportunity in the form of Sunday School.
