What to Expect

What to Expect on Sunday

Coming to church is bold step for anyone to make. No matter who you are–a committed follower of Jesus or a person curious about Jesus, visiting a church for the first time isn’t easy. Perhaps you never have been to church (or not in a long time) and fear you will not know what to do, how to act, or what to say. We want you to feel welcome at San Pedro, but never uncomfortable.Join us for Sunday worship and see what we’re all about.

We want to answer your questions.

calvin
Robes?  Calvin, Faith and Paul wear robes during worship service. This has been a tradition of the church for many centuries. It helps connect us to our past heritage. It also serves to take notice away from what they are wearing that particular Sunday, focusing us away from Calvin and Paul’s horrid fashion senses and onto Christ himself.

Whether you are visiting for the first time or you’ve been here a few times, we know you’ll have questions. Visit us before or after the service at the Visitor Information Center in the lobby, where you will find helpful people who can answer your questions. The team exists to answer questions and strives to be a resource to help you get connected to the right person or group. If you require wheelchair access, designated parking or seating, directions to our accessible restrooms, our nursery, or additional assistance, please ask. You can pick up a gift bag that includes a visitor’s guide, some information to get you connected, as well as a book and/or music.

San Pedro gathers for worship every Sunday morning at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM

Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:45 AM

We meet for coffee, refreshments, and informal fellowship in the Fireside Room between worship services.  We invite you to join us.

Come as you are comfortable. There is no dress code at San Pedro, and on Sunday, you will find some dressed casually, some more formally, and everywhere in between. The average worshipper at San Pedro dresses “smart casual” or “business casual.”

“Mortals look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” Samuel 16:7

Park in our lot or in the adjacent Summit Office Building lot. The entrance for our main lot behind the church is accessed from Oak Shadows. There are signs directing you to the sanctuary. The entrance for the adjacent Summit lot which features some covered parking is off the 281 access road. You can also feel free to use our covered portico if you wish to drop off passengers before parking your car.

A friendly greeter will be present at the door to welcome you and help you get oriented.

You are welcome to sit anywhere, and the ushers will give you a bulletin that guides you through the service. The bulletin will prompt you to make use of the black Bibles, if you wish, and hymnals to participate.
