Note: Regular classes are on hiatus in August.
Sunday School will resume September 10th.
We’ll see you at the Open House on August 27th!
Our 2nd annual Sunday School Open House will coincide with Rally Day (San Pedro’s fall kickoff event in the Fellowship Hall)! At 10:15, head over to the Arnold Building to see your kids’ Sunday School classrooms, meet their teachers, enjoy food and games, times with friends, balloons, a photo booth, and more!
Children’s Sunday School
In Colossians 1:9, Paul the apostle tells the Christians he has come to love, “I have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” I love this prayer. I think Paul’s love for the Colossians is evident – and his mission for them is clear: He knows that their love for God cannot grow unless their knowledge of Him grows, too. “It is a simple, yet profound reality: The more we know Him (not just know about Him), the more we will love Him.” Pastor and author Bill Hybels said that.
This is true for our kids, too. We want them to love God with their whole hearts. But we must also nurture them to grow in their understanding and knowledge of who God is and why He matters to them. As parents, we foster this spiritual growth at home, and supplement it with the opportunities for Christian education provided by our church. Every week at San Pedro, our children have this opportunity in the form of Sunday School:
PreK – 1st Grade – meets in Arnold C101
Theme: Miracles of Jesus
Teachers: Shelly Buschfort, Erin Heinze, Browyn King & Lydia Saro
2nd – 5th Grade – meets in Arnold C104
Theme: God’s Growing Church
Teachers: Jennifer Dowe, Sarah Hakim, Ellyce Warns & Lyndsey Watson
These tremendously faithful and enthusiastic volunteers are on a rotating schedule. I am thankful for their commitment to bring God’s word to our children. What a gift they are!
